Our Story

About Gratitude Month

How a campus mental-health initiative grew into one of SCU's warmest November traditions.

Gratitude Month began in 2022 as part of an initiative led by Vice Provost for Student Life Jeannie Rosenberger on reimagining mental health at Santa Clara University.

A month of small, daily practices โ€” thanking, sharing, reflecting, and connecting โ€” for the whole SCU community.

Every November since, students, faculty, and staff have filled post-it walls with thank-you notes, gathered at Thank You Thursday card tables, taken Photo Fridays with people they appreciate, and paused for gratitude meditations โ€” all guided by a daily calendar of simple gratitude practices.
